Visiting and browsing

Although part of the later Roman town is in the care of English Heritage, nothing of the fortress can now be seen. A few military finds from the site can be seen in the English Heritage visitor centre. More finds can be seen in Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.

The Wikipedia page for Wroxeter contains little of substance or interest about the legionary fortress. The Roman Britain website has a page that is better in content, if unrestrainedly and caustically colourful (as such it helps to turn off the manic style sheet; in Firefox, try View -> Page Style -> No style).

Additional information for inclusion may be sent to info@legionaryfortresses.info
(please put fortress site name in the subject line; all other emails may be treated as spam and deleted).
